Our Founder: Teal Peoples
Mrs. Peoples was inspired to help at-risk adolescent males while working with Guardian ad Litem, foster care and the juvenile justice system. She discovered that the prevailing issues that seem to follow these particular young men are the lack of basic educational skills and social/economic skills at a level of societal equivalents. Without these skills, their hopes and dreams for the future can not be realized.
Beyond Today gained it's 501(3)c status in March 17, 2011. Since then the organization with the assistance of other agencies, has served several youth in the Charlotte area who has returned to school, have not re-offended, decreased school suspension, increased reading and math skill as well as eliminating substance use.

"I have had the pleasure of working with Mrs. Peoples over the past year by being a mentor to adolescences both male and female. I have also assisted Mrs. Peoples in working with juveniles in youth treatment court. Mrs. Peoples provides a variety of services that are much needed for all children and gives her full commitment when working with them. In addition to working with juveniles, she also provides services for the entire family. The services she provides include, but are not limited to, tutoring for reading and math, hosting an out of school suspension site, financial awareness, drug prevention and education, skill training and development, individual counseling and family counseling.
Mrs. Peoples is very dedicated to the welfare of the children she serves and displays patience to the needs of each individual child. It is a pleasure working with Mrs. Peoples as she is extremely knowledgeable at what she does".
